2026 STANY Honors
Starting in 2014, STANY has used the occasion of its Annual Conference to present a limited number of awards to exceptional individuals or entities. Honors are given to those who, in the opinion of the Board and Honors Committee, have demonstrated exceptional service to the industry and/or to STANY and whose contributions have advanced the values and principles upon which STANY was founded. The 11h Annual STANY Honors are awarded in gratitude to the following:
Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
Larry Tabb, Director of Market Structure Research, Bloomberg LLP
Larry Tabb is the Director of Market Structure Research at Bloomberg, LLP. Currently Larry is writing as well as managing a team developing research and insight on financial markets infrastructure, technology, regulation, trading practices and industry issues.
Prior to joining Bloomberg in June 2020, Larry was the Research Chairman of TABB Group, the financial markets’ strategic advisory and research firm where he managed research and consulting for TABB Group. Mr. Tabb published on many aspects of the capital markets industry and has analyzed both US and European market structure; central clearing, credit default swaps, fixed income, equity and foreign exchange trading; financial markets trading and processing systems; analytical trading tools; cloud computing, and financial markets infrastructure.
Before founding TABB Group, Larry was vice president and founder of TowerGroup’s Securities & Investments practice. Prior to joining TowerGroup, he managed business analysis for Lehman Brothers’ Trading Services Division and he began his career managing various operations for the North American Investment Bank of Citibank.
Larry has testified in front of the US Senate Banking Committee, was on the SEC Fixed Income Market Structure Advisory Committee (FIMSAC), the CFTC Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) and has keynoted, spoken and moderated countless industry events. In 2022, Mr. Tabb received the Security Traders’ Association Dictum Meum Pactum (My Word Is My Bond) award for “those individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the betterment of the financial services industry and have exhibited acts of integrity at the highest level.”

Lisa Utasi, Managing Director, ClearBridge Investments
Lisa Utasi is a Managing Director and Senior Equity Trader at ClearBridge Investments, a leading global equity manager committed to delivering long-term results through active management with strategies focused on three primary client objectives in our areas of proven expertise: high active share, income solutions and low volatility
Personally, Lisa was elected to become the President of the Security Traders Association of NY (STANY) in 2004 and again in 2009. In 2004, Lisa was the first STANY President to open the NYSE on behalf of the organization and as an honor to its members. She is also a Past Chairman of the Security Traders Association and was the Chair or Co-Chair of the Trading Issues, Affiliate Liaison, Education and Institutional Committees.
Lisa is a Past Chair and Member of the of the NASDAQ ITAC Committee and served on the NASDAQ Quality of Markets Committee and member of the NYSE Institutional Traders Advisory Committee. Lisa was inducted into the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP) in 2004 and served as its Chairman of the Board from 2019-2020.
Lisa holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.B.A. in Finance from Southern Methodist University.
Lisa is extremely active in the NYC charity community. She has served as an MDA National Vice President and is a two-time Chair of MDA’s Wings Over Wall Street an ALS Fund Raising Committee. She is committed to causes including the Inner-City Scholarship Fund which changes lives for the better by providing families with demonstrable financial needs the opportunity to give their children a quality, values-based K-12 Catholic education within the Archdiocese of New York. Inner-City exists to ensure that the gift of an excellent Catholic school education continues to be a viable option for students of all faiths today and for future generations to come.
