STANY Women in Finance Scavenger Hunt Raises Nearly $11,000 for Girls Inc. NYC

On June 23, the STANY Women in Finance (WIF) Committee welcomed 53 participants for an evening of networking, teamwork, and giving back at our "Secrets of Grand Central" Watson Adventures Scavenger Hunt.

The event brought together a terrific mix of industry professionals—including men and women, seasoned market veterans, emerging leaders, and interns—to uncover the hidden history and fascinating secrets of Grand Central Terminal while competing in a fun and challenging scavenger hunt.

Congratulations to our winning team of Centrally Grand with Dana DeMartino (TMX), Amy Reichard (Broadridge), Valeria Ricaurte (ScotiaBank), Kim Unger (STANY) and Lisa Utasi, (ClearBridge) who earned an impressive 115 points to claim first place! A close second place finish at 112 was put up by The Elite 8 team of Shannon Fitzgerald (Regulatory Ridge), Patricia Koetzner (Siebert Williams Shank), Kate McAllister (GLP), Kara McDermott (Virtu), Simrain Sanghvi (Siebert) and Madison Peters Smith (Siebert). 

Following the hunt, participants gathered at Docks Restaurant, where we were joined by Suzanne Igarteburu representing Girls Inc. NYC, who shared how the organization's work is helping inspire and empower girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, participants and supporters, the event raised nearly $11,000 to support Girls Inc. NYC's programs, which provide mentoring, educational opportunities, leadership development, and life skills to girls throughout New York City.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and helped make this event such a tremendous success. Together, we demonstrated that our industry can have fun while making a meaningful impact in our community. Thanks are due as well to our WIF sponsors who made the event possible and to Alexa Koike (BMLL) who was instrumental in securing gift bags for our attendees.

Annual Meeting

Join Us for STANY's Annual Meeting – July 21st

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, July 21, as STANY members gather to celebrate the past year, welcome new leadership, and look ahead to the future of our Association. This year's Annual Meeting will be held in two parts, giving members the opportunity to participate in our important governance activities and reconnect with colleagues at an evening networking reception.

At the Annual Meeting, we will recognize the leadership and accomplishments of President Brian Kennedy and his administration over the past year and hear from incoming President Bill Cody, who will share his vision and priorities for the year ahead.

We'll also announce the results of the Board election, introduce STANY's newly elected Officers, Directors, and Consultants, and thank the outgoing Board members for their dedicated service to the Association.

Following the business meeting, members will hear from industry experts discussing the proposed recision of Rule 611 and the new Cboe Predict. Speaker details will be announced shortly.
