About Us
Established in 2016 as an initiative within the Security Traders Association of New York, STANY WIF is dedicated to enhancing the role of women in finance. We seek to bring together women across all sectors of the financial community for events that foster alliances, recognize women’s achievements, and explore issues within the industry and the community. Our goal is to increase the ranks and voices of women within the Association and the industry and to help women advance their careers in financial services.

STANY Women in Finance & Webull Host Meaningful Women’s History Month Event- Careers Unpacked
On March 20th, STANY’s Women in Finance Committee partnered with Webull to host an incredible Women’s History Month event at Webull’s lively offices in New York City. The evening featured a powerful panel discussion and vibrant networking reception that brought together women in our industry for a night of connection, inspiration, and actionable insights.

Following the discussion, guests enjoyed refreshments and an opportunity to connect with colleagues and new contacts in a relaxed setting. The energy in the room reflected the strength of our Women in Finance community and the shared commitment to supporting each other’s growth and success.

STANY WIF Pitch and Putt Golf Clinic August 22, 2023


The picturesque greens of the Garden City Country Club came alive on August 22nd as the STANY WIF Golf Clinic unfolded, bringing together professionals in finance for an evening of skill-building, networking, and camaraderie. The clinic, organized by the STANY WIF Committee aimed to provide a platform for women to refine their golfing skills while fostering meaningful connections with peers. The event was a resounding success, leaving attendees with improved swings, valuable connections, and lasting memories.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our generous sponsors who made this event possible. Their support underscores the importance of empowering women in finance and promoting a diverse and inclusive environment within the industry. STANY WIF Spring Campaign for Women in Need NYC (WIN NYC) June 12, 2023
STANY WIF sponsored a scavenger hunt and networking event to raise money for Women in Need NYC. The event generated in excess of $8,000 for largest provider of family shelter and supportive housing in New York City.
Women and men, STANY members and guests participated in a competitive scavenger hunt in eight groups. The Secrets of Greenwich Village hunt run by Watson Adventures was won by team Not a Bank which included participants from Jane Street and Virtu Financial. The group met for post hunt refreshments and networking at The Lido Deck. WIF Breakfast March 27, 2023
STANY WIF Breakfast kicked off a sold out 87th Annual Conference at the NYSE. The breakfast featured two leadership conversations. Lynn Martin, President, NYSE and Jessica Froats, Head of Relationship Management began the day sharing stories of their careers and work at the Exchange. Helima Croft, Managing Director and Global Head of Commodity Strategy, RBC Capital Markets discussed her fascinating career with Past STANY President, Patricia Koetzner, Managing Director, Siebert Williams Shank.

STANY WIF sponsored a walk and networking event to raise money for Razom for Ukraine. The event generated in excess of $10,000 for the charity. Combining teamwork and tech Swerve's competitive indoor bike challenge was a great way for STANY-WIF to kick off 2019 with a focus on health and comradery.

Acting Workshop at The Theater Center
A group of STANY Members and guests put their acting and improv skills to the test in an intro to acting class run by actors Rob Sedgwick and Cathy Russell. The two-hour crash course designed for beginners. let us step out of our comfort zones,improve presentation skills, and build stronger relationships with friends and colleagues.

As part of STA-WIF's Spring Campaign, the STANY-WIF Committee hosted a fun-filled, fund-raiser to benefit the Foundation for Women Warriors. More than 100 members and guests supported the event at Pennslyvania 6. Through the generosity of the community, the STANY-WIF raised $4,200 for the Foundation.

An Evening at the NYSE
STANY WIF and the NYSE partnered for an exciting and informative panel discussion focused on the potential changes for the financial industry in light of the new administration.
At this time of regulatory uncertainty, this event proved to be an opportunity to hear predictions on what to anticipate from the Hill and the Commission and how it may impact 2017 priorities within the exchange and investment management community. More than 60 women in the financial services community attended the event, hosted in the Muriel Siebert room of the Exchange.

Private Screening of Equity
STA WIF hosted a private screening of the movie Equity at the Angelika Film Center. The event featured a post-screening special appearance and question and answer session with the film's Executive Producer, Candace Straight.

Shopping Event at Rebecca Taylor to benefit local women's charity Bottomless Closet
As part of a national movement, STA Affiliates around the country hosted local shopping events for charity. In New York, a group of members and guests enjoyed an evening at the flagship Rebecca Taylor store on Madison Avenue. The event raised awareness and served as a clothing drive for Bottomless Closet. Bottomless Closet serves economically disadvantaged New York City women who are in need of assistance in securing jobs.
